SDO San Carlos City conducts trainings

 

To upskill teachers, and school heads and enable them to cope with the demands of time, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of San Carlos City, through the Learning Resource Management (LRMS) Section under the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), conducted a series of Division webinars in Conducting Online Trainings, Development of Interactive Digital Learning Resources and Designing of Offline Learning Management System Using Open Educational Resources (OER) and Microsoft Application Software , July 3 to August _________.

The aforementioned trainings aimed to: (1)  get familiarized with and use online platforms in conducting training

s, LAC sessions and conferences for phase 1 participants; (2) utilize OER and Microsoft Application Software in conducting online platform trainings for professional learning and development activities and developing learning materials; and (3) design a school offline learning management system which will be populated with developed learning materials.

The series of Division webinars were: Online Collaboration Software for School Heads and Department Heads where they grasped knowledge and full understanding on how to use online platforms in conducting training, Learning Action Cell  sessions and conferences (Phase 1);  Basic OER  for all teaching and non- teaching personnel where they  gained knowledge and   understanding about the Crossword and Word Search Puzzle Maker ,Hot Potatoes (JCross), The Hat, Handbrake, Kiwix and Wandershare Quiz Creator (Phase2);   Advanced OER for all teaching and non-teaching personnel where they grasped knowledge and understanding on Cartoon Storymaker, WWTBAM, AR/VR, AnyCast, WOF, LMS (Moodle), DepEd Commons (Phase 3); Proficient OER for all teaching and non-teaching personnel where they gained knowledge and full understanding on Bitmoji, Book Widget, MS Powerpoint, Appsgeyser, Kotobi Author and Reader, DepEd LR Portal (Phase 4); and Microsoft Application Software for batch 1  where they gained knowledge on Office 365, OneDrive, Forms, Calendar, One Note, MS Teams and Google Meet (Phase 5 Batch 1).

The Batch 1 composed of Districts I-A, I-B, II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B and ALS unit. Whereas, the Batch 2 for the Phase 5 webinar were Districts IV-A, IV-B, V-A, V-B and the Implementing Units.

The OER volunteers and core leaders who served as learning facilitators and working committee members were Mr. Roldan B. Eden, PDO II, LRMS, Ms. Joanna Liezel A. Imus, Teacher III of Turac NHS, Mr. Cipriano III L. Arenas, Teacher III of Balite Sur Es, Ms. Sheila Marie G. Austria, Teacher I of Mabalbalino ES, Mr. Mark Lyndon B. Baguio, Teacher II of Abanon NHS, Mr. Norman C. Bancolita, Teacher II of SEPNAS, Ms. Mary Grace S. Caranto, Teacher II of Libas NHS, Mr. Dexter U. De Guzman, Teacher II of Tamayo NHS, Mr. Jose Ranny G. Martinez, Teacher III of LibaS ES, Mr. Peter Paul R. Mejia, Teacher I of SEPNAS, Ms. Jezebel P. Posadas, Teacher II of SEPNAS, Mr. Jeric G. Tagulao, Teacher III of Libas NHS and Mr. Rielmar F. Trinidad, Teacher I of SEPNAS.

The participants were expected to submit a video presentation of their outputs in each software discussed to ensure the efficiency and quality of the trainings.

Some of the participants were able to express how thankful they are to the Program Management Team for initiating the said activities. They also greeted and thanked the team of the learning facilitators for patiently imparting to them the necessary information and knowledge about OER for them to improve their teaching styles that they can inspire their learners to study harder through enhancing their interest while adapting to the challenges posed by Covid-19.

"Our attendance to these trainings will help us in creating our learning activity sheets, self learning modules, other instructional materials, and assessments even offline," one of the webinar participants said.

“The said webinars will help teachers in developing learning resources that can be used in offline and online learning delivery modes,” Mr. Roldan Eden, PDO II, LRMS said. “It is SDO SCC’s way of addressing the needs of the continuously changing learning environment and to support the Digital Rise Program of the Department of Education," he ended.
